Mash Ritchie
Artist member since 2019
ProToronto, Ontario
Mash Ritchie (b. 1996) is a Canadian painter based in Toronto. She received a BFA in Drawing and Painting from OCAD University in 2019. Her work explores the theme of fragility, with an emphasis on presence during creation. Through energetic mark making her work layers bold charcoal lines and vivid colours of acrylic, creating compositions that flicker between presence and erasure. Often the idea of fragility lies in between the brief moment of presence and erasure as her work lingers in the half-formed and nearly-gone, where emotion and abstraction meet.
Ritchie’s work has been exhibited across the GTA, Quebec and the UK. Her work has been published in Friend of The Artist and collected across Canada.
